چکیده

The most effective method for producing fermentable sugars (FSs) from biomass is thermochemical pretreatment assisted by enzymatic hydrolysis. However, the hydrolysis-assisted limited formation of fermentation inhibitors, and it time-consuming. There growing interest in using a microwave (MW) due to its uniform rapid heating. This study aimed determine, perform data-driven modeling, optimize effect MW combined with dilute acid (MW-DA) on production FSs hazelnut shells. An artificial neural networks (ANNs) model based Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was best described sugar extraction (FSE). Optimization via BBD-based ANNs carried out an concentration 0.5 2% (w/w), time 5 25 min, pressure 15 bar, temperature 120 160 °C. optimized FSE estimated at 374 mg/g (81.4% conversion efficiency), severity factor 3.61 under 1.58% H2SO4 13 min °C 8.5 bar. Using MW-DA process lowered costs significantly decreases time.

Dilute Acid pretreatment of corncob for efficient sugar production.

Aqueous dilute acid pretreatments of corncob were conducted using cylindrical pressure vessels in an oil bath. Pretreatments were conducted in a temperature range of 160-190 °C with acid-solution-to-solid-corncob ratio of 2. The acid concentration (v/v) in the pretreatment solution was varied from 0% to 0.7%, depending on temperature. This gives acid charge on ovendry-weight corncob of 0-2.58%....

Factors Affecting Delignification of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch by Microwave-assisted Dilute Acid/Alkali Pretreatment

Microwave-assisted dilute acid/alkali pretreatment is an efficient and rapid method of removing lignin and hemicellulose, however, the optimized parameters for the maximum efficiency have to date not been presented in the literature. The purpose of this study was to determine those conditions by examining the effects of three factors: microwave power, temperature, and time on delignification in...

Sugar yields from dilute oxalic acid pretreatment of maple wood compared to those with other dilute acids and hot water.

Dilute oxalic acid pretreatment was applied to maple wood to improve compatibility with downstream operations, and its performance in pretreatment and subsequent enzymatic hydrolysis was compared to results for hydrothermal and dilute hydrochloric and sulfuric acid pretreatments. The highest total xylose yield of ∼84% of the theoretical maximum was for both 0.5% oxalic and sulfuric acid pretrea...
